The late Jordyn Ruth was a newborn from New Lebanon. She was delivered stillborn due to an umbilical cord accident, just weeks before her due date. Her parents, Jason and Jessica Ries, along with her big brother, Joshua, are devastated by this unexpected loss. The family is now facing significant emotional and financial challenges.
Jodi O’Hara, a family member, has organized a GoFundMe campaign titled "Helping through the grief process" to raise funds for medical and funeral costs and to support the family during their grieving period. As of now, $320 has been raised out of a $25,000 goal, with contributions from donors such as Dee Marshall, Shelby Barras, Cassie Rhodes, Taylor Johnson, and MacKenzie Mertz.
The community has shown an outpouring of support on social media. Jodi Renee expressed, "Our precious children, Jason and Jessica Ries — delivered Sweet Jordyn Ruth safely into the arms of Jesus this weekend … we covet your prayers and humbly ask for your help in this journey." Many others have also offered their condolences and prayers:
- Mary Mays commented, "I am so sorry for your loss! Praying for you all!"
- Fritz Kling shared, "Prayers for the family! Gods comfort! His steadfast love never cease. His mercy never ends. They are new every morning. GREAT is HIS FAITHFULNESS. He will provide comfort to your hurt."
- Cyndi Adomatis Richards wrote, "Jodi, I am so sorry for your loss! I am praying for all of you!"
- Elizabeth Bollback Nelson mentioned, "Praying for all of you especially Jason and Jessica and you as you help your children walk this very difficult and painful path."
These messages reflect the deep sorrow and strong support from the community during this heart-wrenching time.
