The late Jonathan Sauceda from Houston, Texas, was a beloved uncle, son, and sibling. His family and community are deeply saddened by his tragic death and are currently seeking financial support to cover his funeral expenses.
Jonathan was a kind and caring individual, always close to his mother and ready to help his siblings and nieces and nephews. He was the youngest of five children and worked diligently at a detention center for children and youth who had been separated from their parents after crossing the border. Despite the emotional toll this job took on him, Jonathan’s perseverance was greatly admired by those around him.
Yesterday, at around 6 in the morning, Jonathan was tragically run over by his boyfriend. The couple had been experiencing relationship problems, as reported by Jonathan’s best friend. Following a significant argument, Jonathan’s boyfriend left their shared apartment intending to drive away. Jonathan chased after him and positioned himself in front of the car. Although his boyfriend initially claimed he did not see Jonathan due to the early morning darkness, it is believed that the incident was influenced by the boyfriend’s emotional state, as it was already light out at that time of day.
Jonathan’s family is now raising funds for his funeral through a GoFundMe campaign organized by Letisia Sauceda. So far, $2,825 has been raised out of the $12,000 goal, with 45 donations. The family urges anyone who can help to contribute, emphasizing that any amount will be greatly appreciated. This effort is a heartfelt plea to honor Jonathan’s memory and provide him with a proper farewell.
