The late Jonathan Hattabaugh was from Mitchell, Indiana. His sudden and unexpected passing has left his family and the community in deep mourning. Jonathan did not have life insurance, which has added a significant financial burden to his grieving family as they prepare for his funeral.
Levi Hattabaugh, Jonathan’s brother, has organized a GoFundMe campaign titled "Assist in Giving Jonathan a Deserved Farewell." The campaign was created to help cover the costs of Jonathan’s funeral services. As of now, $765 has been raised out of the $10,000 goal through 17 donations. The community’s support is crucial during this difficult time, and every contribution, no matter how small, is greatly appreciated.
Levi shared his thoughts on the GoFundMe page, expressing his deep sorrow and the family’s need for financial assistance. "Jonathan was a good person and a great brother, he had a heart of gold and would do anything to help someone if they needed it. He will be greatly missed," Levi wrote. He also emphasized the urgency of their situation, asking the community to share the post and help them reach their fundraising goal.
Karen Asbury, a cousin of Jonathan, also posted on Facebook, urging people to contribute. "Sharing again, anyone that can help, even if it’s a dollar, my family would appreciate it. My cousin Jonathan didn’t have life insurance and this was completely unexpected. Please help my family give him the goodbye he deserves, a kind loving soul gone way too soon," Karen’s post read.
The fundraiser has seen support from several donors, including Crystal Lowden, who made the top donation of $100, and Rocky Staggs, who contributed the first donation of $50. Each donation brings the family closer to being able to afford the funeral Jonathan deserves.
The outpouring of support from the community highlights the collective effort to help Jonathan’s family during this tragic time. It underscores the importance of community solidarity in facing unexpected challenges and ensuring that loved ones are given a proper farewell.
