John W. Bruetsch, 65, of Enola, passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2024, at Penn State Holy Spirit Hospital in Camp Hill. John was a retired Logistics Coordinator from Veritiv Corporation and had previously worked at Konhaus Farms, Harrisburg Paper, and xpedx. He dedicated much of his life to public service, serving as the Chief Public Information Officer for East Pennsboro Township and Cumberland County, as well as Treasurer for the Pennsylvania National Fire Museum.
John’s commitment extended to volunteering for numerous local fire companies in Enola and the surrounding areas. Known for his unwavering dedication, John was a familiar and beloved presence at firehouses, often helping in the kitchen during community events.
Megan Sullivan, a close friend of John’s wife Julie, has organized a fundraiser to cover the costs of his funeral. She remembers John fondly for his generosity and humor, sharing a personal anecdote about an adventure to Shady Maple to retrieve her spare car keys.
The fundraiser, titled "Support John’s Funeral: A Tribute to a Hero," aims to raise $5,000 to ensure John receives the dignified farewell he deserves. Megan emphasizes the impact John had on his community and expresses deep gratitude for any donations, noting that each contribution comes with heartfelt tears from John’s family.
All funds raised will be directed to Parthemore Funeral Home, helping to alleviate the financial burden on John’s family during this difficult time.
