The late John Lochrie, known for his cheeky, annoying, kind, and caring nature, passed away recently. His death has left his family heartbroken and the community in shock. In response to this tragic loss, Adam Brookes has organized a fundraiser to cover the funeral costs and give John a proper send-off.
Adam Brookes shared his thoughts on Facebook, asking friends and family to donate to the GoFundMe campaign. "Hi, my name is Adam, and I’m hoping to raise money towards funeral costs, to ensure a great send-off," he wrote. "It is with great sadness we are setting up this page. One of the most popular, cheeky, annoying, kind, and caring souls anyone could wish for was taken by the angels this week."
The fundraiser has raised £310 out of the £2,000 goal, with 11 donations so far. Notable contributions include £50 from Steven Darwood, £10 from Kira McClimon, and £10 from Rachel Thrupp. Steve Stringer also expressed his condolences, saying, "Aww, such a nice thing to do, Adam Brookes. I’ve sent round my donation in person already with a card. I have given £250 towards this sad time. Never forgotten."
Adam emphasized the importance of community support during this difficult time. "Everyone who knew John knows how he would do anything for anyone, no matter how big or small the favour was, with little in return, no complaints, just smiles and love. Knowing all of this, we know that the community, friends, and family would like to help, and one way this is possible is to help take some of the financial stress that comes with a funeral. Therefore, if you are able to donate and help in this difficult time, it would be truly appreciated."
The outpouring of support highlights the impact John had on those around him and the collective effort to honor his memory.
