The late John Lehmann from Huntington Beach lost his battle with colon cancer on June 26th. His friends and community are deeply saddened and are coming together to honor his memory. Rachelle Cochems, a close friend, is organizing a celebration of life and has initiated a GoFundMe campaign to support this event.
Rachelle shared on Facebook, "Hi Friends, I am helping with the celebration of life for John Lehmann. As many of you may know, he was fighting colon cancer for the last few years and lost his battle on June 26th. We are going to miss him dearly and want to throw him the best celebration of life, any help you can contribute would be appreciated. RIP John Michael Lehmann, You were bigger than life and will always be in our hearts."
The fundraiser aims to raise $5,000, and as of now, $1,025 has been collected from nine donations. Contributions range from $50 by Sarabeth Wyns to $200 by Kelly Stricklin and Kimberly Gordon. The community’s support reflects the impact John had on those around him.
Sarabeth Ann expressed her sorrow on Facebook, writing, "Oh no! This is horrible news. I’m so sorry to hear this." The sentiment is shared by many who knew John and are coming together to remember the joyful moments they shared with him.
The celebration of life for John Lehmann is planned for August, with the date and place to be determined. The friends organizing this event hope to gather and share stories, celebrating the life of a man who meant so much to them. As Rachelle noted, "People have asked if they can help, and we would really appreciate any support you can in throwing John a celebration of Life party and all come together and share our great stories we have of him."
