John Fosco, Laguna Beach, California – The community is deeply saddened by the sudden loss of John Fosco. John was a humble and gentle soul, known for his wit, humor, love, and service. He was a proud father to Marina, soon-to-be grandfather to baby girl Maeve, a loving brother to Janet, an amazing dog dad to Rocco, and a beloved friend to many.
On Thursday, June 27th, John passed away, leaving a void in the hearts of those who knew him. To celebrate his life and legacy, a GoFundMe campaign was created by Megan MacKay, aiming to raise $2,500. The campaign has already surpassed its goal, raising $2,595 with contributions from 18 donors. The top donation of $500 came from Wayne Salas, with Rick Wright contributing $200 as a recent donation.
A memorial service will be held on August 18th from 2:00pm-5:00pm at the Canyon Club Laguna Beach, where friends and family will gather to remember John. The funds raised will cover the costs of the services, flowers, and John’s favorite, chocolate cake. Any remaining funds will be given to his sister Janet to cover any costs for Rocco, and to Marina to support her new journey as a mother.
On Facebook, friends expressed their shock and sadness at John’s passing. Sally Wiener Sherman wrote, "RIP John Fosco you will be missed." Kim Ice simply said, "What??? Nooooo." Jennifer Miela McDaniel was in disbelief, commenting multiple times, "Whhhhhhhaaaaaat? OMGOSH" and "Are you sure?" Sally Wiener Sherman confirmed the sad news, stating, "Yes he was a Laguna Club fixture." Jennifer responded, "I’m so saddened. Thank you for letting us know xo."
