It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of Joe Miller. Joe, who had surgery for a brain tumor, wasn’t able to recover from the procedure. He passed away quietly on Wednesday night, June 26, 2024.
Joe was a bright spark in this world and will be deeply missed. If you had the pleasure of knowing Joe, you knew how humorous, giving, and kind he was. During his 76 years, Joe lived a full and colorful life. He was a good friend to many, a passionate dancer and performer, a talented mechanic, knife aficionado, archery teacher, and a spinner of yarns who told some of the best (and worst) jokes ever known to man. Notably, Joe attended Clown College, which helped him land a job as a clown and acrobat for the Barnum and Bailey Circus.
Shandra Allen-Morley is organizing a fundraiser to cover Joe’s cremation costs, estimated at $1100-$1200, as well as a Celebration of Life party, which will cost approximately $500 and is planned for later this summer in Colorado. The fundraiser, created on June 28, 2024, has raised $1,650 of its $2,000 goal from seven donations. The Allen-Morley family, who hosted Joe in their home for several years in Fort Collins and considered him "Uncle Joe," is spearheading this effort to honor his memory.
Donors have shown their support, including a significant contribution of $1,000 from Thomas Snow and various other donations from friends and well-wishers. The community’s generosity reflects the deep impact Joe had on those around him and the collective desire to give him a fitting farewell.
The Allen-Morley family expresses their heartfelt gratitude for any contributions to help reach the fundraising goal and ensure Joe’s end-of-life needs are met.
