The late Jodeci Queen Mavis from Denair, California, passed away on Saturday, June 8th. Her family and friends are deeply mourning her loss while making arrangements for her services. Jodeci was a beloved mother, daughter, sister, and friend, whose passing has left a void in many lives.
Her sister, Ki Mavis, expressed the family’s grief and need for support on Facebook: "As you may know, we lost our sister Jodeci Queen Mavis on Saturday, June 8th. As we are making all the service arrangements, your donations are greatly appreciated."
To support Jodeci’s family in laying her to rest, a GoFundMe fundraiser was created by Kiana Mavis. The campaign has raised $1,740 of its $10,000 goal so far, with 17 donations. Kiana shared the emotional plea: "Hello family and friends. As you may know, we lost a beautiful soul, Miss Jodeci Queen Mavis. It is with a heavy heart that we are reaching out for help at this time. Raising money for her funeral costs so she can be properly laid to rest. Thank you all so much for your donations; everything helps!"
Notable donations include $250 from Carissa Lopez, the top donation, and $100 from Catrina Castillo, the first donation. The community’s support, while substantial, still needs more contributions to meet the goal.
This effort reflects the collective struggle and need for togetherness in times of sorrow. The outpouring of support underscores the impact Jodeci had on those around her and the urgent need to support her family in these trying times.
