Joanna Gonzalez sadly passed away on June 9th in Mexico. She was a vibrant and loving person, who left this world surrounded by her loved ones. Her brother, Leobardo Gonzalez, has started a fundraiser to help cover the funeral expenses and honor her wish to be buried in Mexico, where she had always dreamed of living.
Leobardo shared on Facebook, "Any help and love sent our way is appreciated. Thank you. God bless. In memory of my sister, Joanna." The fundraiser, titled "Celebrating Joanna’s wonderful life!", has so far raised $226 out of its $1,000 goal, with contributions from ten donors, including Moniquie Peterson and Daniel Gonzalez.
Koraima G Saucedo expressed her condolences on Facebook, saying, "I’m soooo sorry for your loss. My condolences to you and your family. May God bring peace to your guys’ heart and mind. And may she rest in paradise."
Leobardo hopes that the community’s support will help fulfill Joanna’s final wish and provide her with a dignified burial in the place she loved.
