The late Jireh Goertzen, the eldest son of Joel and Barb Goertzen, tragically passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2024. The community of Gladstone and his family are deeply mourning his loss. In memory of Jireh, a fundraiser has been organized by Duane Goertzen to support the Goertzen family and Redemption Moto, a local bike shop with a mentoring center for youth.
The fundraiser aims to raise $20,000, with proceeds going towards the family and Redemption Moto, reflecting Jireh’s passion for mentoring and his love for the community. As of now, $1,450 CAD has been raised through six donations.
Duane Goertzen, who organized the fundraiser, emphasizes the importance of community support in this difficult time. The funds will help ease the family’s burden and continue the positive impact Jireh had through Redemption Moto. This initiative is seen as a way to be the hands and feet of Jesus, embodying the spirit of giving and support that Jireh lived by.
The community’s response has been heartfelt, with donations pouring in from friends, family, and anonymous donors, showing their solidarity and support for the Goertzen family during this time of grief.
