Jim L. Pantel Jr. from Rancho Cordova, California, passed away unexpectedly, leaving his family struggling to cover cremation costs. Chris Dent, Jim’s son-in-law, shared the devastating news on Facebook, asking for help to cover the expenses. "Hey all. My father-in-law Jim L. Pantel passed away unexpectedly. With little to no information to assist my wife Grace Dent, brother-in-law Chris Pantel, and sister-in-law Ciera Tamayo with cremation costs. So I am reaching out to those who may be able to help cover the bare bones cremation costs," Chris wrote.
A GoFundMe campaign, "Assist in Jim L. Pantel Jr.’s Final Journey," was organized by Christopher Dent. As of today, $255 has been raised out of the $2,800 goal, with donations from Callyan Y ($55), Bradley Dent ($100), and Alicia Williams ($100). "Unfortunately, Jim L. Pantel Jr. passed away unexpectedly. He did not leave us with much or any detailed information on his wishes," Christopher Dent explained on the fundraising page. "The kind people at Mount Vernon Memorial Park are helping us but cannot cremate him unless we pay in full. Also, we cannot move forward without cremating him. So we are seeking help from those who may have some disposable income to help."
The Facebook post received several condolences and expressions of sympathy. Cece Salisbury commented, "So sorry for your loss. Prayers for your family," to which Chris Dent replied, "Thank you, Cece, Miss you and hope you’re doing well." Lindsay Lopez also shared her heartfelt message: "My sincere prayers and condolences for your her and family at this time sending my love," and Chris responded with gratitude, "Thanks Linds. Love ya." Melissa Blatz and Cheryl Lajiness Dewey also expressed their condolences, with Cheryl mentioning, "My prayers are with Grace and family, you, and your family."
Jim’s passing has left his family in a difficult situation, and they are grateful for any support during this challenging time. "We are so grateful for any help during this difficult time. With love," wrote Christopher Dent on the GoFundMe page, highlighting the family’s need and appreciation for the community’s support.
