The late Jewell W. Heffenger was a beloved resident of Denver, Colorado. Her family and community are struggling to prepare for her burial, which has become a daunting task due to unexpected financial challenges. Tracy Jackson, Jewell’s granddaughter, has organized a fundraiser to support the funeral and memorial arrangements.
Jewell’s family discovered two weeks before her passing that she had given her burial plot to her daughter, Marsha, who passed away in 2003. Additionally, Jewell did not have an active life insurance policy. With a tight deadline of June 6th for the viewing and services, the family faces a significant financial burden to fulfill Jewell’s wishes.
Jewell expressed her desire to look like a "DIVA" in pink and white on the day of her funeral and to be buried next to her daughter. However, the high costs associated with the burial have made it challenging for the family. Despite these obstacles, they are determined to ensure she is laid to rest with dignity.
Jewell was known for her vibrant personality, often helping those in need and affectionately calling everyone "baby." Her laughter was infectious, and she would say, "Oh, you tickle me!" She had a rich past, including a singing career in Japan and being a cherished member of her Denver community for 30 years. Jewell loved jazz, family gatherings, and capturing memories through photographs.
As of now, the fundraiser has raised $445 out of the $8,000 goal, with contributions from nine donors. The family extends their gratitude to everyone who has donated and shared the fundraiser link. They humbly ask for continued support to reach their goal and honor Jewell’s final wishes.
