Jerell "Jay-R" Robinson Jr. from Asheville has tragically passed away. His unexpected death has left his family and community in deep shock. Jay-R’s mother, Karen, and his brother, Jeremiah, who was also his best friend, are facing not only the emotional toll of his passing but also the financial burden of arranging his funeral and handling other associated expenses.
Dana Frankel, a neighbor and friend, has organized a GoFundMe campaign to support Jay-R’s family during this challenging time. The fundraiser, created today, has so far raised $300 of its $7,500 goal, with contributions from Rachel Taylor, Jemuel Colbourne, and an anonymous donor.
Dana Frankel shared on Facebook, "Hi folks. Our neighbors and friends could use support during a very difficult time. Please consider donating and/or sharing this with others, particularly those who are connected in some way with this family."
The funeral service for Jay-R will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at 11:00 am at Biltmore Church (West Asheville Campus). All are welcome to attend and help celebrate his life.
In her heartfelt appeal on GoFundMe, Dana Frankel writes, "Jay-R’s unexpected and tragic passing has deeply shaken those closest to him. His mother, Karen, and brother and best friend, Jeremiah will be processing this loss for some time, while also taking on the planning and expenses of a service and other logistical needs. Lightening the financial burden during this time will help, and will be appreciated immeasurably."
The community is encouraged to support the Robinson family by donating and sharing the fundraiser to help them through this profoundly difficult period.
