The late Jenna Rene Cox died in a tragic head-on collision south of Maywood, Nebraska, early Saturday morning, June 22, 2024. Jenna, a vibrant and beloved young woman, left an indelible mark on everyone who knew her. Her untimely death has left her family and friends heartbroken.
“Never in a million years did any of Jenna’s family or friends think they would be setting this page up,” wrote Valaree Busse on the GoFundMe page created to support Jenna’s family with funeral and medical expenses. “Jenna was beautiful, sweet, smart, funny, had the most contagious smile and laugh, and always wanted the best for everyone; but most of all, Jenna was loved.”
Jenna was on the cusp of an exciting new chapter in her life. She was preparing to move to Kearney to live with her boyfriend, Dalton, and was excited to start her new role as the manager of Kearney’s Bling. Her enthusiasm for this next step was palpable, but sadly, her life was cut short before she could embark on this journey.
On Facebook, tributes poured in for Jenna. Harris Jeremy-Tammy expressed the collective grief, writing, “May all who read be touched and pray. Help if you can, but most of all be like Jenna and be beautiful and kind.” Another friend, Candace Roye, shared her memories, saying, “Jenna and I were house mates. We both have an avid love for our dogs which helped us connect. We watched out for each other and our dogs. I was so proud of how hard she worked.”
Many others echoed these sentiments. Scott Merrill simply stated, “Very Sad News..Prayers For Family and Friends!” while Sue Mulligan remarked, “What a beautiful gal. So sorry! God Bless.” The community’s support was evident as messages of prayer and condolences flooded in.
Jenna’s death has highlighted the fragility of life and the impact one person can have on many. Her love for her family, friends, and dogs, and her ability to make others feel beautiful, even when she didn’t always feel that way herself, left a lasting impression. As Sally Carpenter poignantly noted, “May GOD bless her family with Comfort, but please don’t think for a minute that GOD caused this accident. It’s always people error.”
The fundraiser for Jenna’s family has garnered significant support, raising $4,065 out of a $15,000 goal. Contributions came from many, including Logan Kircher and Montana Wilcox, whose donations reflect the deep appreciation for Jenna and the love she shared.
In the words of Debra Weimer, “We never know when our lives end. A beautiful lady taken way too soon. Prayers to all.” Jenna’s legacy of kindness and beauty will continue to inspire those who knew her, even as they mourn her loss.
