The late Jeffrey Johnson from West Jordan, Utah, passed away recently, leaving his family and community in deep sorrow. His daughter, Heather Zonnie, is struggling to cover his final expenses amidst this devastating loss.
Heather Zonnie created a GoFundMe campaign to help raise $7,000 for her father’s funeral and remaining hospital bills. As of now, $450 has been raised through three donations. Pat and Doug Jackson contributed $200, Ken Kaniff donated $50, and Launi J Norton also gave $200.
"My beloved father was called back to our Heavenly Father," Heather wrote on the GoFundMe page. "He now rests with his parents, siblings, and children who passed before him. His health was declining in the last few months. We were in and out of the ER and clinical visits trying to get him better."
Heather expressed the immense pain the family is enduring, especially since they had just laid her brother Zech to rest less than six months ago. "My dad was my world and my children’s papa. He was a devoted father and grandfather. He loved his children deeply and loved his grandchildren even deeper. This is heartbreaking to our family."
Lonnie Hicks shared a heartfelt message on Facebook, saying, "Rest in peace Jeffrey Johnson."
The community has shown support, but more help is needed. Heather’s fundraising efforts reflect a daughter’s love and dedication to honoring her father’s memory. The campaign also highlights the challenges families face when dealing with unexpected medical expenses and funeral costs.
