We are completely heartbroken. We don’t know what to do or how to do this…. If you can help at all lay Jay to rest please do. If not, we understand. Pray for my family!" she wrote. Kari also requested privacy for her mother, Elizabeth Deselms, who is overwhelmed with grief and constant inquiries about the situation.
A GoFundMe campaign has been organized by Kari Foose to help cover the costs of Jay’s cremation and services. The fundraiser, titled "In Loving Memory of Jay Benson," has raised $830 out of its $8,000 goal. Donations have come from various friends and community members, including Beth Stone, Cindy Doughty, Stephany Wood, Steve Kirkland, and anonymous donors.
Jay’s family and friends have shared their memories and condolences on social media. Zachary Matthew reminisced, "Awe man… not Jay. RIP MY BROTHER… Lots of good memories."
