Jason Pogue, a beloved father, husband, and friend, passed away unexpectedly earlier this week. As a resident of Pitman, Jason and his wife Sabrina were deeply involved in local schools and extracurricular activities, always offering their time and energy to help others. Jason’s sudden passing has left his family and the community in deep grief.
Amanda Kent Budd, a close friend of the Pogue family, is organizing a fundraiser to support Sabrina and their two children, Aurora and Jaxon. The goal is to raise $10,000 to help ease the financial burden of funeral arrangements and provide support for the family’s immediate needs. As of now, $255 has been raised through four donations.
Amanda shared a heartfelt message on Facebook, encouraging friends and the community to rally around the Pogue family. She wrote, “Friends, it’s with a heavy heart that we hear of the sudden passing of our friend Jason Jersey Jay. Please consider selecting a date on the Mealtrain website below to coordinate dinner for Sabrina and their children. There is also an option to donate a gift card through the website that Sabrina will be able to use at her discretion. Let us please rally around the Pogue family and support Sabrina, Aurora, and Jaxon as best as we can during this terribly upsetting time.”
Sabrina Mabel, Jason’s widow, expressed her gratitude for the support, saying, “Thank you Amanda, Ryan, and everyone, I appreciate your support and kindness so much.”
Jason was known for his selfless contributions and warm spirit, touching the lives of everyone who knew him. He could often be seen supporting his children at various school and community events, or driving around town playing his music and waving to everyone. His loss is deeply felt, but the community’s outpouring of love and support serves as a testament to the impact he had on those around him.
The fundraiser aims to help Sabrina and the children focus on healing and remembering Jason’s wonderful qualities without the added stress of financial concerns. Every contribution, no matter the size, will help honor Jason’s memory and provide comfort to his family during this incredibly difficult time.
