The late Jason Christopher Russo, born on December 24, 1987, was from Scottsdale, Arizona. His father, Chris Russo, is currently organizing a fundraiser in his memory to support organizations aiding the homeless. Jason’s life in his last 15 years was marked by struggles with mental illness, drug addiction, and homelessness. Despite continuous support from his family, friends, and various groups, Jason found life overwhelming and ultimately passed away on March 30, 2024.
Chris Russo is asking for donations to be distributed to the Unhoused Response Group (URG) and The Hello Angel’s Foundation. These organizations played a significant role in trying to assist Jason by providing essential items like blankets, sleeping bags, and mental health services. They also facilitate access to showers and Narcan to help those experiencing homelessness.
In his GoFundMe campaign titled "Jason’s Memory: A Beacon for Homeless Aid," Chris Russo expresses his gratitude for the 36 years he had with his son. He acknowledges the harsh reality of the growing epidemic of homelessness and emphasizes the need for support to help individuals like Jason get off the streets.
Chris’s fundraising goal is $10,000, and he hopes that through this effort, he can honor his son’s memory by supporting those who continue to fight similar battles.
