The late Jamie Dougherty, also known affectionately as "Frankenstein," was from Buffalo, New York. Jamie passed away suddenly on Saturday, June 8th, 2024, leaving behind his life-long partner, Alexis, and their five-year-old daughter, Hannah. The community, family, and friends are all deeply shocked and grieving this unexpected loss.
A GoFundMe campaign has been organized by Becky Durand to support Alexis and Hannah in the wake of Jamie’s passing. The goal is to raise $15,000 to help cover day-to-day living expenses, household costs, and the expenses for Jamie’s funeral and memorial service. As of now, the fundraiser has raised $320 from two donations: $20 from Lyle Clayson and $300 from Denis Mantsurov.
The SC YockUB Rugby Alumni community shared their sorrow on Facebook, highlighting Jamie’s larger-than-life presence and the immense void his passing has left. "Got some sad news today from Paul Glodzik that Frankenstein AKA Jamie Dougherty had passed away suddenly," the post read. "If you knew him, he was larger than life… literally almost a giant. He always had a big smile and was simply a wonderful human being. He will be missed by everyone who knew him."
This collective mourning and support demonstrate the significant impact Jamie had on those around him and the strong sense of community as they rally to support Alexis and Hannah during this incredibly challenging time.
