The late James Maguire II tragically lost his life to suicide on June 27, 2004. His father, Brian Maguire, is now facing the heartbreaking task of arranging a proper burial for his son. Unfortunately, James did not have any insurance, leaving his family in financial distress during this difficult time.
To honor his son’s memory and provide him with a dignified farewell, Brian Maguire has created a GoFundMe campaign. The goal is to raise $15,000, with any leftover funds being donated to suicide prevention efforts. So far, the campaign has raised $250 from four donations, including contributions from Steve Overton and Whitney Barber.
Brian Maguire wrote on the GoFundMe page, "My son, James Maguire the second, tragically lost his life to suicide. He had no insurance and I’m trying to raise funds so I can give him a proper burial that he deserved. Any leftover funds will be donated to suicide prevention. Thank you so much for your help. James would greatly appreciate it and we, his family, greatly appreciate anything you could do. Even a dollar would help. God bless."
The community has shown support on social media. Anna Maguire, James’s cousin, expressed her sorrow by posting, "Rest easy, sweet cousin. I’ll think of you often." Other friends and family have shared their condolences, including Elizabeth Pike, who commented, "Sorry for your loss," and Laurie Bamford McCoy, who sent "love and prayers."
The outpouring of support reflects the deep impact James had on those around him and the collective desire to support his family during this time of need.
