The late Gregory Calderon was from Bakersfield, California. Gregory’s life was tragically cut short, and his passing has left a deep void in the hearts of those who knew him. His family is now facing the daunting task of arranging his cremation and memorial services. Today, June 18, 2024, would have been Gregory’s 21st birthday.
Denise Pliska, a close family friend, has organized a GoFundMe campaign to help support Gregory’s family during this difficult time. The fundraiser aims to raise $7,500 to cover the costs of the funeral services. As of now, $535 has been raised through seven donations. Denise expressed the profound impact Gregory had on the lives of many, noting his unmatched energy, kindness, and selflessness. He was known for putting others above himself and always maintained a positive demeanor, even on rough days.
Denise shared a heartfelt message on Facebook, saying, "Today Gregory would be 21… Any donations would be greatly appreciated. If you would like to donate cash, you can do so at PorkChop & Bubba’s BBQ located at 1230 H St, 93301 between 10:30am – 6:00pm." This local restaurant is serving as a collection point for those who prefer to donate in person.
In addition to the online fundraiser, the community is coming together to support Gregory’s family. Gregory was an organ donor, a testament to his selfless nature, and the family hopes to honor his memory through the generosity of others. Donations have started to come in, with contributions from individuals like Bianca Morales, Carol Reynoso, Brenna Farris, an anonymous donor, and Lee Hearron, each offering financial support to help ease the family’s burden.
The community’s outpouring of support reflects the love and respect they had for Gregory. His commitment to his two jobs, his time spent at the gym, and his devotion to his family and pets showcased his dedication and hard-working spirit. The memory of Gregory’s calm yet energetic presence will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
