The late Georgie Perkings, beloved by many, recently passed away in the early hours of Friday, June 21st, after a brief but intense battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her family and enveloped in love during her final moments. Georgie was known for her infectious humor, bright personality, and the ability to light up any room she entered. Her kindness, beauty, and warmth left an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Her sister, Kris Perks, expressed her grief on Facebook, writing, "As you may know, we lost my sister Georgie Perkings to a short battle with cancer recently. We want to be able to give her the send-off she deserves which, given the current financial climate, will be challenging. If anyone is able, a donation to help us do what we can would be so sincerely appreciated."
A GoFundMe campaign has been launched by Sophie Girling and Kristian Perks to raise funds for Georgie’s funeral. As of today, £610 has been raised out of the £1,000 goal through eight donations. The family is grateful for the outpouring of support, as Sophie Girling mentioned in the fundraiser, "Her family and friends would love to give her the send-off she absolutely deserves so we are asking for any donations if at all possible, no amount, however little, will be a miss. Or even just a simple share of the GoFundMe page. We appreciate every single one of you who have sent any messages and condolences."
Among the recent donations, Alice Campbell contributed £100, Jo Winzor donated £10, and there was an anonymous donation of £20. The family continues to reach out to the community for support in these trying times.
Georgie Perkings’ passing is a profound loss to her family, friends, and all who knew her. Her memory lives on through the stories, laughter, and love she shared with those around her.
