Michelle Gatica, Freddy’s daughter, has organized a GoFundMe campaign to support the memorial service. The fundraiser, titled "Support for Freddy Gatica Sr, Memorial Service," has raised $20 out of its $3,000 goal as of today. The Gatica family plans to hold a memorial service on June 29 to honor Freddy’s life, fulfilling his wish to be cremated.
In a heartfelt message on the GoFundMe page, Michelle expressed gratitude for the prayers and support during this challenging time. "Our father’s wishes were to be cremated. We plan on having a memorial service on June 29 to remember and honor the life he had. The location and time will be shared as soon as we have everything arranged," she wrote.
The community has begun to rally around the Gatica family. Joseph Suniga, representing Austin Texas Boxing, shared on Facebook, "ANYTHING HELPS…If you know Austin boxing then you know this man. Thank you all and thank you coach for the life lessons you taught us."
The fundraiser’s link invites those who wish to contribute, stating that all forms of support, whether through prayers or financial contributions, are deeply appreciated. The Gatica family is hopeful that with the community’s help, they can meet their goal and give Freddy the memorial service he deserves.
