Fayra Bonilla Ruby, a beloved member of the Springfield community, was found dead on June 15, 2024. She had been missing since the afternoon of June 10, 2024. Her sudden and tragic death has left her family and friends in deep mourning.
Fayra was described by her loved ones as a good, kind, loving, and sweet person. Despite facing various challenges, she remained cheerful and always wore a smile. Fayra had no known problems with anyone, making her departure even more painful for those who knew her.
Nery Umanzor and Nancy Umanzor have organized a GoFundMe campaign to cover Fayra’s funeral expenses and transport her body to her final resting place in Honduras, the country she dearly loved. As of now, the fundraiser has raised $11,959 out of its $20,000 goal, with 183 donations. The community’s response has been heartwarming, with the top donation of $2,000 made by Kayla Middleton.
Raina Payne expressed her grief on Facebook, saying, "I am still at a loss for what to say, and the weight of you being gone will take time to process. I am so proud to have known you as close as I did in high school. I know we didn’t stay close, but I never stopped loving you with all my heart. It’s still not real that you aren’t on the other end of my phone, but you are never truly gone. Your infectious laugh, beautiful smile, and amazing love for all those around you are always with me. I will always carry you with me everywhere I go."
The fundraiser organized by Nery Umanzor reflects the deep love and respect Fayra’s family and friends have for her. They are determined to ensure she receives a proper burial and that her final wishes are honored. The community’s generosity has been a beacon of hope during this challenging time, as they rally to support the family in their hour of need.
