Fayettea Devine, a beloved resident of Shirley, NY, passed away on June 6, 2024. Known affectionately as Fay, she spent her final days in hospice care surrounded by loved ones who are now preparing to celebrate her life and legacy.
Fayettea, described as a beautiful soul with a strong, determined, and fun personality, brought joy and vibrancy to everything she touched. Her profound love for animals led her to dedicate herself to rescuing and caring for horses and various other creatures. Fay’s green thumb was legendary, as she could nurture any plant in her garden.
Her niece and caregiver, Tonii Toriano-Ansburg, has been by her side for many years. Tonii has organized a GoFundMe campaign titled "Celebration of Fayettea Devine Life" to raise funds for Fayettea’s farewell. The goal is to raise $5,000, of which $870 has been collected so far through nine donations. Contributors include Dorothy A Marin, who donated $250, and Sylvia Derosa, who donated $125.
In her heartfelt message on the GoFundMe page, Tonii expressed her gratitude for the support received and highlighted Fayettea’s impact on their family and community. She wrote, "Fayettea Devine is a beautiful soul and has the strongest, most determined and fun personality, and breathes life into everything she touches. Her care and love have shaped us into the individuals we are today."
Tonii also mentioned the overwhelming support they have received: "We are grateful to everyone who clicked on this GoFundMe page. Any donation, no matter how small, would be greatly appreciated. If you are unable to donate at the moment, we completely understand and kindly ask you to share this link instead. Thank you for taking the time to read a part of her story."
The community continues to rally around the family during this difficult time, ensuring that Fayettea’s life and legacy are honored as she wished.
