The late Evren Jacob Paquette, a beloved child from Windham, passed away after a brief but severe bout with meningitis. The devastating news has left his family and community heartbroken. Evren’s grandfather, Mike Guillemette, expressed the family’s immense grief on Facebook, mentioning how the pain and suffering are unbearable.
Evren’s family, including his parents Shawna and Israel, is now focused on honoring his memory through the establishment of a scholarship fund. This fund aims to support students from Pinkerton Academy who are pursuing advanced studies in various fields such as Science, Automotive, and Early Childhood Education.
A GoFundMe campaign has been organized by Elizabeth Pieroni to help make this scholarship fund a reality. The campaign has a goal of raising $5,000, and so far, $270 has been raised from six donations. Elizabeth Pieroni described Evren as a ray of light who brought joy to everyone around him. Even in his passing, Evren continues to be a superhero through the donation of his organs, which has saved other children’s lives.
Support and condolences have poured in from the community. Heather MacKenzie expressed her deep sorrow, stating, "My heart goes out to you and your family." Nathan Fenderson added, "Big hugs and prayers for you and your family." Steve Noel commented, "You all must be heartbroken… prayers sent to heal your broken hearts!" and Donna Schmidt simply sent her prayers.
The family is finding strength in the support they are receiving from friends and well-wishers. Paul Guertin, a family friend, wrote, "As I sit here reading this, I am thinking of your family. I’m wiping my tears; please know that your family is in my prayers."
This outpouring of love and support is a testament to the impact Evren had in his short life. The community’s response highlights the importance of collective support during such tragic times and the powerful legacy one can leave behind.
