Edwin Rosado, a beloved member of the Bastrop community, passed away on June 10, 2024, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. His passing has left a profound void in the hearts of his family and friends.
Edwin, affectionately known as Eddie, was cherished by many. He was a devoted brother, father, uncle, grandfather, and friend, whose kindness, strength, and unwavering love touched everyone around him. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family, fishing, and tinkering with various projects, which brought him peace and happiness even during his toughest times.
Patricia Nocerino Rosado, who is married to Edwin’s younger brother Osvaldo, shared heartfelt memories on Facebook: "We regretfully announce the passing of my husband’s older brother, Edwin Rosado, who lost his battle with cancer on June 10, 2024. We have many fond memories with Eddie, who was Ozzy’s best man at our wedding and always made us laugh. He always called me ‘baby girl’ and said I was his favorite. He had a great sense of humor and will be deeply missed. We love and miss you, Eddie. Rest in Peace, our Beloved Brother."
The community has rallied to support the Rosado family during this difficult time. Yissell Torres has organized a GoFundMe campaign titled "Honoring Edwin Rosado: Support for Funeral Expenses," with a goal of raising $9,000. The fundraiser aims to help cover the costs of Edwin’s funeral and ease the financial burden on his grieving family.
"Dear friends and family," Yissell wrote on the GoFundMe page, "It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of our beloved Edwin Rosado (Eddie), who lost his long battle with cancer. Edwin’s greatest joy in life was spending time with his family. His infectious smile, warm spirit, and dedication to his loved ones will forever remain in our hearts. Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a significant difference and help us give Edwin the farewell he deserves. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being there for us."
