The late Diane Alonzo, a beloved member of the Jacksonville community, passed away last Friday. Her family is now seeking assistance to cover her funeral expenses due to delays in the processing of her life insurance policy. This unexpected delay has added to the family’s burden during this difficult time.
Annabel Apilado, Diane’s great-niece, has organized a GoFundMe campaign to raise the necessary funds for her burial. The goal is set at $9,000, but as of now, only $145 has been raised through three donations. Annabel expressed her gratitude for any contributions, noting the urgency of securing a date and location for the funeral arrangements.
Anna Grace shared on Facebook, "My great aunt Diane passed away last Friday. My family is needing assistance at this time for the funeral expenses for her burial due to life insurance taking longer than expected to process the funds. I am making this GoFundMe for assistance during this tough time for her daughters and grandchildren. Anything would be appreciated."
The GoFundMe campaign has received support from a few donors:
- Teresa Esparz contributed $100.
- Nancy Lucas donated $25.
- Daniel Ross added $20.
Expressions of sympathy and support have also poured in on social media:
- Alma Escueta Betita: "Condolence Annabelle"
- Larry Escueta: "Condolence"
- Destiny Whitehead: "Prayers for you all"
- Wendy Renita: "My condolences"
- Myrna Escueta: "Condolence to the bereaved family. May she rest in peace"
This fundraising effort highlights the family’s need for collective support during a time of grief. The community’s response reflects the importance of coming together to support one another in times of loss.
