The late Denilson Cifuentes, affectionately known as Pitz, was a young man from Guadalupe, Genoa, who resided in the USA. His tragic passing has left his family and friends in deep grief. Denilson, who was in his twenties, was on his way to Los Angeles for an appointment at the consulate when he had a car accident in the early hours of May 19, 2024. Sadly, he passed away at the accident spot.
Denilson’s only family member in the USA is his brother, who now faces the difficult task of sending Denilson’s body back to their home country, Guatemala. To assist with this, Karen Lemus has organized a GoFundMe campaign titled "Support for Denilson’s Final Journey Home," aiming to raise $20,000.
The news of Denilson’s passing has touched many in the community and on social media. Noticiero Flores Costa Cuca shared their condolences, stating, "We regret to inform the sensitive death of the neighbor of the village Guadalupe, Genoa who resided in the USA, Denilson Cifuentes affectionately known as Pitz. Our condolences to the family, friends, and loved ones. May God give you much strength and resignation in this time of pain."
Carlos Noé Lal expressed his sorrow, saying, "Dios santo, por eso mucha, los que estamos luchando por la familia pidamos al Dios en que NOS dé úna oportunidad de volver a llegar a nuestra Guatemala sano y vivos para volver a disfrutar de los nuestros sí por la necesidad creo uno no sé viene a la USA."
Rous Cifuentes, who appears to be a family member, mourned deeply, writing, "Q dolor tan grande mijo como duele tu partida." She also shared a heartfelt tribute: "Si mi wiro era a todo dar un buen hijo hermano sobrino mi campeon mi campeon te fuiste mijo."
Other family members and friends also shared their grief and condolences. Keila Cifuentes expressed her sorrow, and Eliza Cabrera offered her prayers, stating, "Keila Cifuentes mi más sentido pésame hay que pedirle a Diosito que le ayude en estos momentos no lo puedo creer Dios les va ayudar a soportar tanto dolor."
Iris Ramos shared her condolences for Denilson’s parents: "Que Dios yene ese gran vasio para doña Dina que a dejado este patojo es un gran dolor para ella como madre que es y para don Yovani que Dios los consuele y los ayude en estos momentos mi más sentido pésame para toda la fam."
