The late Deborah Ellison, from Richardson, Texas, passed away on May 15th after battling an aggressive form of cancer. Deborah had recently retired from her long career with DISD in January and was looking forward to enjoying a slower pace of life. However, her plans were interrupted when she had to care for her sick mother, who passed away a month later. Shortly after arranging her mother’s funeral, Deborah was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer on April 1st. Despite fighting hard, she succumbed to the disease just over a month later.
Deborah’s children, Jessica Tanner and Gus Ellison, are now facing significant financial challenges. They have incurred numerous expenses related to their mother’s cremation and the probate lawyer fees for both their grandparents and parents. In addition, they hope to hold a celebration of life to honor Deborah’s memory.
Nathan Davis has organized a GoFundMe campaign to help support the family during this difficult time. The fundraiser aims to raise $5,000 to cover these expenses. As of now, $50 has been raised, and the family is reaching out to friends and the community for further support.
Deborah is remembered as a fiercely loving mother and the rock of her family. The fundraiser reflects the family’s need for assistance in covering the unexpected costs following her passing and their desire to celebrate her life and legacy.
