The late David Desjarlais was from Port Coquitlam, British Columbia. David’s family and friends are grieving his sudden passing on May 25, 2024. His former partner, Wendy Boulter, organized a GoFundMe campaign to support his two daughters, Cheyenne and Camille, who are now faced with the responsibility of covering his funeral expenses and other financial challenges.
David had been unable to work for over three years due to a severe accident, leaving his daughters to manage the overwhelming financial burden. Wendy Boulter, in her heartfelt plea on the fundraising page, described the situation: "Dave was part of my life in the ’90s and together we have two beautiful daughters, Cheyenne, now 27, and Camille, now 25. As most of you know, David had not been able to work for over three years because of a horrible accident he was involved in."
The fundraiser, created on June 24, 2024, has raised $710 CAD of its $10,000 goal with contributions from 15 donors. Notable donations include $100 from Matthew Evans, the most recent and top donation, and $20 from Joseph Pasqualotto, the first donation.
David’s daughters are seeking help to cover expenses related to his celebration of life, outstanding debts, and the cleanup and repair of his home that Camille will be moving into. Wendy Boulter expressed her gratitude to those who have supported the family during this challenging time: "Any amount, no matter how small, will make a significant difference and will be deeply appreciated by his daughters."
On Facebook, Daphne Desjarlais shared the GoFundMe link and expressed her condolences: "Dear family and friends, my thoughts are with everyone as we all grieve the sudden passing of David. His daughters are now faced with the overwhelming responsibility of covering his funeral expenses, settling his affairs, and ensuring that his memory is honoured in the way he deserves."
A celebration of life for David will be organized sometime in the summer or early fall, and details will be posted on his Facebook wall. Wendy highlighted David’s pride in his daughters and their shared love for the band Kiss, reminiscing about a recent concert they attended together in Vancouver.
David Desjarlais’ passing has left a profound impact on his family and friends, who are rallying together to honour his memory and support his daughters during this difficult time.
