The late Daniel Bost from Sanford, North Carolina, passed away on Friday, May 31st. His death has left a profound impact on his family and the community. Daniel was a devoted son, brother, husband, and father, known for his positivity and willingness to help others. He worked as a lineman for three years, following in the footsteps of his father, who retired from Duke Energy after 40 years. Daniel was happiest outdoors, especially while fishing at the beach, but most of all, he cherished his family and his two daughters, Ellie (age 5) and Kenleigh (almost 2).
As the family navigates this difficult time, a GoFundMe campaign organized by Ashton Byrd has been set up to support them. The fundraiser aims to collect $20,000 to help with day-to-day expenses, education, and care costs for Daniel’s daughters. As of today, $1,545 has been raised through 19 donations.
Ashton Byrd expressed the family’s need for support: "We are reaching out in a time of need to support this sweet family and these precious girls following the passing of Daniel Bost. Daniel was nothing short of an amazing son, brother, husband, and especially father. These girls will need support in the days ahead and we are asking for donations to support their expenses as they move forward without their Daddy. No amount is too little and if anything, we appreciate and NEED prayers more than anything."
Community members have also shared their condolences and support on Facebook. Hayley Smith Mitchell commented, "Continued prayers for you guys," and Staci Sansone shared the fundraising campaign, showing the community’s collective effort to help the Bost family.
The fundraiser emphasizes the importance of collective support during such a difficult time. As Ashton Byrd noted, "Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and most of all your prayers during this time. Please share with others to give the family as much support and love as we can."
The community’s response highlights the deep bonds and the shared sense of responsibility to support the Bost family in their time of need.
