The late Daneel Gailey, known affectionately as Danny, tragically passed away on May 28, 2024, in a devastating motorbike accident in Aldinga. At just 21 years old, Danny’s untimely death has left his family and friends in deep sorrow. He was the beloved only child of Lena Murav’eva, who was by his side, holding his hand when he passed. This profound loss has created an immense void in Lena’s life, as they had always faced life’s highs and lows together.
Danny was a vibrant, caring young man with a bright future ahead of him, cherished by everyone who knew him. His infectious enthusiasm and willingness to help others made him a beloved figure among his friends and the community. His friend Leon Alain shared on Facebook, "Rest in Peace to Danny. Friends from ASMS will remember him for brightening everyone’s day and always being enthusiastic to help. We would have a great time and a great laugh working in the community garden. I wish I spent more time with him. He will be sorely missed and was taken far too soon. Please consider supporting his mother for funeral and other related costs if you can and take care of your loved ones."
In the wake of this tragedy, Ally Modra, a close friend of Lena, has organized a GoFundMe campaign to assist with funeral expenses and other costs associated with Danny’s sudden passing. The fundraiser aims to alleviate some of the financial burdens Lena faces, allowing her to focus on grieving and healing. The campaign, titled "In loving memory of Daneel Gailey," has a goal of raising $50,000 AUD.
Ally expressed the collective grief and need for support in her heartfelt message, "Hi my name is Ally and I am a close friend of Lena Murav’eva who has had a tragedy occur. On the 28th May 2024 her beloved son Danny 21 years old was taken from us in a horrifying motorbike accident which occurred in Aldinga. Danny was a vibrant, caring and loving young man with a bright future ahead of him, loved by all who knew him. He was the only child of Lena who loved and supported him from the day he was born and was by his bedside holding his hand when he passed. No parent should ever have to go through this pain. It has always been the two of them, through the good times and the bad. He loved his mum so much and Lena’s life without him will never be the same."
The community’s outpouring of support highlights the deep impact Danny had on those around him. Contributions, whether financial or through sharing the campaign, are deeply appreciated by his family as they navigate this incredibly challenging time.
