The late Dan Lewis, a beloved member of Powerzone Gym, tragically passed away recently, leaving his community in mourning. Despite his sudden departure, his body has yet to be found, adding to the distress of his family and friends.
Dan was a larger-than-life character who brought joy to everyone around him. The gym where he was a familiar face has been particularly hard hit by his loss. "RIP Dan Lewis laaa," the gym posted on Facebook, describing him as "a huge character in the gym and a beautiful person."
Community members have shared their grief and memories on social media. Carl Little noted, "They’ve not found him yet, have they?" Michelle Connor expressed her dismay at the premature posts, commenting, "Very disrespectful to do this however well meant." Craig Hughes reflected on the cruelty of life, "Seen him about. Life is cruel. Rip." Other members like Tony Walker, Mary Frances Moran, and Joanne Gibson shared their heartfelt condolences, with Joanne adding, "He really was one of life’s beautiful souls. Keep smiling up there Dan Dan, we will miss your face lots."
To support Dan’s family during this challenging time, Kayleigh Lewis has organized a fundraiser. "As you’re all aware, we tragically lost Dan Lewis recently. Dan left behind his children, family, and friends so suddenly. No one could’ve ever prepared for this, so on behalf of his family and with their permission, I have set this up to take some pressure off them during this extremely hard and difficult time," she wrote on the fundraising page. The goal is to raise £1,000, with £820 already collected from 13 donations. Leanne Ankers-Phillips has been notably generous, contributing £200.
The community is coming together to ensure Dan receives the send-off he deserves, honoring the legacy of a man who lit up every room he entered and would do anything for anyone.
