The late Damon Price was a dedicated father and brother who worked at the Houston Farmers Market to provide for his children. On June 6, at 4:19 a.m., Damon was tragically murdered by two 14-year-olds attempting to steal a golf cart after breaking into the market. Damon confronted the perpetrators alone and was killed in the process.
The Houston Farmers Market expressed their grief in a heartfelt Facebook post, stating, "With heavy hearts, we mourn the loss of our beloved team member, Damon Price, who was taken from us by a senseless and tragic event. In honor of his memory and to support his family during this difficult time, we have contributed to their GoFundMe campaign." They invited the community to contribute as well, highlighting the deep appreciation for any generosity shown.
Damon’s family is now facing the immense challenge of covering funeral expenses and supporting his children. Leo Price Sr., who is organizing the GoFundMe fundraiser titled "Fund for Damon’s Children and Funeral Expenses," aims to raise $20,000. The funds will primarily cover the funeral costs, with the remaining amount intended to set up a fund for Damon’s children. As of now, no donations have been made, but the campaign underscores the importance of early support to inspire others to contribute.
In this time of profound loss, the community’s support is crucial to help Damon’s family navigate this difficult period and ensure his children have the financial support they need.
