The late Christopher Steve Flores, 18, from Manassas, tragically lost his life in a car accident on June 22, 2024. The Prince William County Police Department reported that the crash occurred around 3:22 PM near Fitzwater Dr and Manley Rd in Nokesville. Christopher was driving a 2013 Infiniti G37 at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the vehicle, which subsequently left the roadway, struck multiple trees, and rotated before coming to a stop. He was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the car. Despite being transported to a nearby hospital, Christopher succumbed to his injuries.
The tragic news has deeply affected the community, leading to an outpouring of condolences and reflections on social media. Alexandria Robinson, reflecting on her own 17-year-old child, said, "Hits a bit closer having a 17-year-old myself. You think you’re absolutely invincible at that age. Totally understand, unwise choices were made – but I think it’s safe to say we ALL made unwise choices at 18. We just survived ours."
Cathalene Singleton expressed her sorrow, "Praying GOD’S Comfort and Peace for his Family and Friends. Please everyone, be alert and slow down." Similarly, Melisa Pham noted, "Luckily, no innocent people were harmed," highlighting a small solace in the tragedy. Christine Turner offered simple condolences, "Condolences to his friends and family," while Sean Notsteveo shared his grief and a call to action, "Sad. I hope parents share this post to their kids as I have. Deterrence starts with effort."
Lauren Hayman pointed out the risks of young drivers with powerful cars, "Parents probably shouldn’t get their teens fast or fastish cars. But they should also know not to do that. Sucks all around." Robbie Trejo commented on the vehicle, "It’s always the kids in the Infinitis that think they’re a world championship driver. Please don’t buy an Infiniti G37 if you don’t know how to drive."
A fundraiser has been organized by Jared Lagos to support Christopher’s family during this difficult time. As of now, $185 has been raised out of a $25,000 goal. Donations have come from Katherine Hernandez, Spencer Atkinson, Max Dunayer, and Brandon Fernandez. Jared Lagos described Christopher as "a light in many lives," adding that his "smile brought happiness to anyone in his path" and his "eyes glistened with hope and a bright future." The community mourns the loss of a young man taken too soon and seeks to provide financial support to ease the burden on his family.
