The late Craig Preisendorf from Tyler, Texas, suffered a tragic and unexpected event while golfing on Sunday, June 23rd. Craig, who was only 38 years old, experienced a massive heart attack and fell into a lake along with his golf cart. By the time he was discovered and pulled out, he had been without oxygen for approximately 35 minutes. Despite the efforts of the EMTs who performed CPR, the prolonged lack of oxygen resulted in significant brain damage.
Craig was rushed to Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler, where doctors informed his family that while his heart was still pumping, there was no brain activity, and his condition was rapidly deteriorating. His parents, Michele and Jerry Preisendorf, along with the rest of his family, were by his side as preparations were made for organ donation on Monday, June 24th.
Emily Preisendorf has organized a GoFundMe campaign to support the family with funeral expenses and other costs associated with Craig’s untimely death. As of now, $1,710 has been raised out of the $12,000 goal, with 21 donations received. The family expresses their profound gratitude for the donations and the outpouring of support during this difficult time.
Al Garcia, a friend of Craig, shared his thoughts on Facebook, stating, “I just can’t even believe it. I enjoyed any chance we spoke over the years, even if just briefly. Craig always shared positivity and loved his family and his pups unconditionally. We share a great passion for golf and shared stories from time to time. I know how much his family loves him and we’re thinking and praying for all of you at this time. Rest easy, Cuz.”
Another friend, Curtis Heise, expressed his sorrow, saying, “So sorry bro, way too young, prayers for his family.”
The Preisendorf family is overwhelmed by the community’s support and the love shown to Craig. They are deeply appreciative of every donation and message of condolence.
