The late Cintya Sotelo was from South Gate. She bravely fought for two years against her illness and, even on her last day, continued to fight for seven hours. This heartbreaking news has left her family and friends in deep sorrow.
A GoFundMe campaign has been organized by Yuridia Ferrera to support Cintya’s family in covering the funeral expenses. The fundraiser aims to raise $10,000, and as of now, $75 has been raised from two donations. Yuridia explained that most of the family’s funds were used to care for Cintya during her illness. Cintya leaves behind four children, with the youngest being only seven years old.
The community has shown support through heartfelt messages. Letty Melchor expressed her sorrow, sharing, "Rest in peace Cintya Sotelo. I’m sorry but I didn’t have the courage to say goodbye to you, when I couldn’t make it to your daughter’s birthday, and then had to see you in those conditions to say goodbye forever! I will always have those nice and sweet memories we shared in Marina Del Rey and Venice High School." Another friend, Derick A Ruiz, reminisced, "I warmly remember her kindness and smile in MdR and VH. RIP."
These tributes highlight the love and respect Cintya garnered in her community. Her family and friends continue to mourn her loss, cherishing the memories they shared with her. The fundraiser reflects their hope to honor her memory and support her children during this difficult time.
