Christina Kay Henry, a 41-year-old resident of Pelham, Georgia, tragically passed away in a car accident on June 28, 2024. The accident occurred when she veered off the road, hit an embankment, and the car became airborne, flipping several times. Christina died at the scene due to blunt force trauma.
Her sudden death has left her family, especially her eight children, devastated. Six of her children are still under the age of 18, and her two oldest daughters, aged 16 and 17, are both pregnant. Monica Grayson, a close friend, has stepped in to care for the teenagers, while their grandfather, nearly 80 years old, is taking care of the younger ones despite his age and ongoing work responsibilities.
Monica Grayson is also organizing a fundraiser to support Christina’s family during this challenging time. The goal is to raise $2,500 to help alleviate the financial burden on the family, particularly with the children starting school soon. The community has been supportive, bringing food and drinks to the family’s home.
Brittany Cooper shared her condolences on Facebook, saying, "Praying for Christina Henry’s family. The pain her babies are going through is something I wouldn’t wish on anyone. Lord please wrap your arms around them all."
Monica Grayson announced the funeral arrangements on Facebook: "Funeral arrangements for Christina Kay Henry will be July 1st, 2024, at Willis-Jamerson-Braswell Funeral Home from 11-12 viewing service. Burial will be at 12; she will be laid to rest at Meigs Sunset in Meigs, GA."
Monica fondly remembers Christina as a loving and big-hearted woman who always put others before herself. She mentioned, "Tina has four grandchildren being born within three months. I was so excited to share this life with her, but the good man above called her home. She always thanked me and told me she wouldn’t know what to do without me."
Christina’s passing is a significant loss to her family and community. The fundraiser aims to ensure her children are taken care of and to honor Christina’s memory by continuing her legacy of love and care for her family.
