The late Cheryl Moyer and her son, Micah Moyer, were involved in a tragic auto accident on May 25th on Highway 18 in Apple Valley. Cheryl, a loving mother and cherished community member, was killed in the collision. Her 17-year-old son, Micah, sustained severe brain injuries and was kept on life support for organ donation before being declared dead.
Cheryl’s friend Robert Bartley shared his grief on Facebook, stating, "I’ve known Cheryl since junior high and through high school, and communicated almost daily on FB with her. She was the sweetest and nicest person you could meet." This sentiment was echoed by many others who knew Cheryl.
Shannon Richardson, a family member, expressed the family’s anguish, "Her kids, my niece and nephew, are her other children. This has been a nightmare for all of us."
Cheryl Moyer was a beacon of light in her community, serving as the president of the High Desert Republican Women Federated and a board member of the High Desert Youth Soccer League. Micah, a promising young man and outstanding baseball player, was deeply beloved by his family and friends.
The Moyer/Richardson family, including Brittany Richardson, Cristian Richardson, Orion Richardson, Chris Moyer, Adam Moyer, and Aaron Moyer, are devastated by this loss. A fundraiser organized by John Roshala, Cheryl’s brother and Micah’s uncle, aims to raise $25,000 to cover funeral and memorial services. So far, $3,900 has been raised with contributions from 22 donors.
The community is urged to support the family during this incredibly difficult time, whether through donations or by sharing the fundraiser page. Cheryl and Micah’s legacy lives on through the memories and love they left behind.
