Candace Blankenship Hudson, a beloved member of the Lynchburg community, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly last night at the age of 43 due to heart failure and septic shock. The news has left her family and friends in shock and mourning. Without life insurance, the financial burden of her funeral has fallen on her family, particularly her father, Billy Blankenship.
Nikki Wade, a family member, has organized a GoFundMe campaign to help raise $5,000 to cover the funeral expenses. So far, $200 has been raised through three donations, with contributors including Tory Meeks, Samantha Hudson, and Cora Fitzgerald.
The fundraiser aims to alleviate the financial strain on Billy Blankenship, who has always been a devoted and selfless father. Nikki Wade writes, "We would like to support him even in this smallest way to help him give her an appropriate goodbye and celebration of life."
The community has started to rally around the family, as evidenced by the heartfelt messages shared on social media. Kevin Rosser, a friend, posted on Facebook, "Attention recovery community and friends and supporters: A person near and dear to me lost their daughter suddenly. I knew Candace personally as well and she struggled with our dilemma. As a result she didn’t have the means or resources and the burden is upon her father.. please help us give one of our own a proper burial."
Debbie Blankenship expressed her gratitude, saying, "Thank you Kevin," while Tory Meeks shared, "I sent a little. I hope it helps. Prayers for the family." Billy Blankenship himself replied to Kevin’s post, simply saying, "Thanks Kevin."
The family hopes to provide Candace with a fitting farewell and appreciates any support from the community during this difficult time.
