The late U.S. Air Force Capt. Brock McArdle, assigned to the 90th Fighter Squadron, passed away on Friday, June 21, 2024. His untimely death has left a profound impact on his family, friends, and teammates at the 3rd Wing. Col. Kevin Jamieson announced the loss, urging everyone to respect the grieving process and support each other during this difficult time. A memorial for Capt. A GoFundMe campaign has been set up by William McCarthy to help Capt. McArdle’s family honor his memory. The fundraiser, titled "Help Brock’s Family Honor His Memory," aims to raise $5,090 to cover travel expenses for his family and friends to attend his memorial service in Alaska. As of today, $2,881 has been raised, with donations from 27 contributors. Any excess funds will be donated to a charity chosen by Brock’s family.
On Facebook, friends and colleagues have shared their condolences and memories of Capt. McArdle. Trey Murch reminisced, "R.I.P. brother. I remember us as A1Cs having a good time in Misawa. You were the first person I saw that crossed over to an officer. You showed me that ‘it’s possible’." Victor Perez simply stated, "Rest in peace. Amen, Amen, Amen." Brad Blackmon added, "Prayers for his family and friends. Fly high, young man."
