The late Brenda Ann, a beloved grandmother from Salem, Oregon, passed away on Wednesday, June 5th. At 65 years old, Brenda’s sudden death has left her family and community in deep mourning. Despite a recent physical in April that showed promising health, underlying issues with her aortic valve led to insufficient blood flow, resulting in three heart attacks. She was admitted to Salem Hospital, where she went into cardiac arrest, was revived, and placed on life support for three days.
During those days, her family stayed by her side, witnessing small signs of responsiveness and clinging to hope. However, complications arose, including the need for a leg amputation due to blood flow issues. Brenda’s condition deteriorated rapidly, and despite the medical team’s best efforts, she passed away.
Brenda Ann’s family, particularly her only child, is struggling with the grief of losing her. Her grandchildren are helping their mother with the necessary arrangements. Brenda had always expressed a desire to be buried near her parents, but the unexpected nature of her passing left no funds saved for her burial.
To support her burial and alleviate the financial burden on her family, a GoFundMe campaign has been organized by her granddaughter, Alexis Mastenbroek, aiming to raise $8,000. The family is reaching out for donations, hoping to honor Brenda’s final wishes.
Brenda Ann, a devout Christian who had been paralyzed from the waist down due to polio since she was 18 months old, believed in a heavenly afterlife where she would be free to run. Her faith and love remain a source of comfort to her grieving family.
