Brad Cole tragically lost his life on Tuesday, May 14th, 2024, during an unprovoked violent robbery attempt of his dog Callie while celebrating his 37th wedding anniversary with his wife, Debbie Cole, on the Oregon Coast in Lincoln City. Debbie managed to secure the dog from the attacker but turned around to find her husband lying unconscious. Despite life-saving efforts, Brad did not survive. Bystanders apprehended the suspect until deputies arrived, and the attack was caught on surveillance, with the suspect admitting fault.
Brad and Debbie lived in Milwaukie, Oregon, where they raised three children: Lacy, Travis, and Chase. Brad was a beloved grandfather to Travis and Sarah’s four children, who adored spending time with him, especially on Saturdays for pancakes. He was also known for his famous spaghetti dinners, a staple at many birthday parties.
Brad was known for his kindness and humor, making everyone feel loved and cared for. His passing has left the Cole family with unexpected expenses, including transferring Brad back home and funeral services. Debbie, recently retired, faces an uncertain future without her supportive husband.
Adam Rasmussen, husband of Lacy Rasmussen (Cole), has organized a GoFundMe campaign to help Debbie navigate life after this devastating loss. So far, $500 has been raised of the $10,000 target, with donations from Savannah Eastman, Nickolette Turner, and Debbie Bjerkvig.
Malinda McIntire expressed her sorrow on Facebook: "My heart is absolutely broken! Brad was an amazing, kind, caring man. He always made you feel loved. He always had me laughing too. I will cherish all the times I spent with the Cole family. To Debbie, Lacy, Travis, and Chase, I am so sorry. I just want you guys to know I love you and your Husband and Dad and he was truly a blessing to this earth. Love you, Brad!"
The Cole family appreciates the support during this difficult time. Every dollar from the fundraiser will go directly towards helping Debbie Cole.
