Bobby Eichten, a United States Marine Corps veteran and dedicated father of five, tragically passed away on June 28th, 2024, due to a heart attack while driving his truck. Known for his hardworking and compassionate nature, Bobby was deeply cherished by his family and the community.
Bobby’s son, Dustin Eichten, expressed his heartbreak on Facebook, saying, "My father, an honest, generous, compassionate, loving and by god hardest working man I know passed away. I am in shock & heartbroken. But I am also reminiscent. My dad was a great father. He was there when I needed him. He was there for others. A father he didn’t have to be, but a father he wanted and felt he needed to be."
Bobby was discovered in his truck by the Williston Police Department during a welfare check after he failed to make a scheduled delivery for J&B Meat Company. His unexpected passing has left his family and friends devastated.
To honor Bobby’s memory and assist with his funeral expenses, Kyle Eichten, one of Bobby’s sons, has organized a GoFundMe campaign with a goal of $8,500. The campaign aims to lay the beloved veteran to rest and provide some financial relief to the grieving family.
Bobby’s friends and family have shared their condolences and memories on Facebook. Patsy Kraft commented, "So sorry to hear this about your dad. We all had great times in little ole Edgeley." Similarly, Connie Koble Loen offered her support, "So sorry to hear this! We will be thinking about you and your family."
The community’s response has been overwhelming, with many expressing their sorrow and offering prayers. Rodney Oliver stated, "Very sorry Dustin," while Tana M Jensen recalled, "He was so nice and great to visit with when he stopped in the credit union. Hugs and prayers for all of you."
Bobby’s love for driving trucks, motorcycles, and spending time with his family and friends is a testament to his lively spirit and dedication. His passing is a significant loss to those who knew him, and the fundraiser is a step towards ensuring he receives the farewell he deserves.
