The late Bob Davis, from Owosso, Michigan, has passed away after a courageous 16-month battle with cancer. His sister-in-law, Stephanie Orweller, announced his passing on Facebook, sharing that despite the numerous challenges he faced, Bob never lost his positive outlook, faith, or the light that defined him.
Bob was transferred to UofM Hospital in early May after a tumor on his spine caused paralysis from the waist down. Despite the doctors’ relentless efforts to shrink the tumor and Bob’s hard work in physical therapy to regain his leg strength, he faced additional complications from blood clots. Ultimately, Bob’s struggle ended when God called him home, providing him peace from his pain.
As the Safety Director at Indian Trails, Bob took immense pride in his work. He also cherished every moment spent with his five children, Lyric, Eliah, Judah, Jehiah, and Harper. Bob’s dedication to creating lasting memories with his kids was evident in the adventures they shared. His role as a father was his greatest pride, and he consistently put his children first, cheering them on and never missing a moment with them.
Stephanie Orweller is organizing a fundraiser to cover Bob’s cremation, memorial services, and any other associated costs. Any remaining funds will support his children’s future adventures in his honor. Stephanie expressed the family’s gratitude for any assistance provided during this difficult time, emphasizing the emptiness left in their hearts by Bob’s untimely passing.
The memorial service for Bob Davis is scheduled for June 22, 2024, at the First United Methodist Church, located at 1500 N Water Street in Owosso, MI. A luncheon will follow the service. In keeping with Bob’s request, attendees are asked to dress in their best, colorful clothing, avoiding black if possible, to celebrate his vibrant spirit.
"Bob’s positivity and faith never wavered, and he was an incredible father who always showed up for his children," Stephanie shared on the GoFundMe page. "If you had the privilege to know Bob, you were truly blessed."
The community is encouraged to support the fundraiser to ensure Bob receives the final send-off he deserves and to help his children continue to honor their father’s legacy.
