Billie Sparks, from Hillsboro, Oregon, has been battling colon cancer since October 2021. Despite trying various chemotherapies, including a promising trial that initially seemed effective, her condition worsened. She began experiencing severe pain and uncontrollable bodily functions, leading to frequent hospitalizations.
On June 21st, doctors gave Billie a grave prognosis, estimating that she had between 24 hours and three weeks to live. Billie, who has always wished to be cremated in the same place as her father, has been enduring immense suffering.
Billie’s daughter, Nakia Woodson, is organizing a fundraiser to cover the cremation costs. The total expense is $2,300, including a "death fee" and other associated costs. So far, they have raised $1,300 and are seeking an additional $1,000 to honor Billie’s wishes. As of today, they have received $280 in donations from generous contributors.
Nakia’s heartfelt plea highlights the family’s struggle and their gratitude for the support they have received so far. Despite the pain and uncertainty, the community’s kindness offers a glimmer of hope as they strive to fulfill Billie’s final wish.
