Betty Sue Fowler-Brown passed away on May 12, 2024, at Highland Park Hospital. Her death has left her family and friends seeking answers and closure. Betty was admitted on Mother’s Day and diagnosed with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). Despite being deemed too weak for certain tests, the hospital proceeded with them without her family’s knowledge. Tragically, on May 25, 2024, after being informed she would be released, Betty passed away due to complications. It was later revealed she had stage 4 cancer.
Latasha Roberson, Betty’s daughter, is organizing a GoFundMe campaign titled "Support Tasha’s Quest for Closure" to raise funds for an autopsy report. The goal is to understand the exact cause of Betty’s death. Latasha shared her grief and determination on the fundraiser page: “I am currently raising funds to cover the expenses of an autopsy report for my late mother. My family and I are now determined to obtain the autopsy report to gain a better understanding of her cause of death and find closure.”
The campaign, which aims to raise $5,000, highlights the community’s support. Friends and acquaintances have expressed their condolences and shared memories of Betty. Latasha Roberson posted, “In loving memory of my amazing mother, Betty Sue Fowler-Brown. She was a beacon of love and acceptance, always there for everyone. Help us find closure by supporting our GoFundMe for the autopsy report. Any donation and share would mean the world.”
Friends have also shared their thoughts on Facebook. Rashiris Woods wrote, “Sorry for your lost she was always nice to me.” Susan Marbut Potash added, “Sorry for your loss,” and Kim Gregerson expressed, “Man I’m so sorry praying for yall loss.”
The fundraiser seeks to not only cover the costs of the autopsy but also to bring peace to a grieving family. Latasha’s call for support reflects a daughter’s hope to honor her mother’s memory and find the answers they need during this difficult time.
