The late Basha James Tewo was from Asquith, New South Wales. Basha passed away on 12 May 2024. His family is mourning deeply and is working hard to honor his memory with a funeral that reflects the life he lived. Basha was known for his positive and contagious energy, always smiling and encouraging those around him to follow their dreams, no matter how difficult the road.
Bascam Tewo, Basha’s brother, has organized a GoFundMe campaign to help cover the funeral expenses and to fly immediate family members from across the country to attend the funeral. The fundraiser, created today, has raised $1,065 AUD of its $15,000 goal so far, with 12 donations. Yejin Na made the top donation of $400 AUD, followed by Mariam Beshere’s $100 AUD contribution, and the first donation of $25 AUD was made by an anonymous donor.
Bascam expressed his gratitude on the GoFundMe page, highlighting the importance of the contributions during this difficult time. "Your generosity, kindness, and contributions would mean the world and more," he wrote. He also emphasized how much Basha meant to their family and friends, stating, "Many of us have encountered Basha’s positive and contagious energy. In many ways, he has left a deep and profound impact on us all."
Riham Mustafa also shared thoughts about Basha on Facebook, echoing the sentiments of loss and admiration for the person Basha was.
The Tewo family appreciates every contribution, no matter the size, as they work towards giving Basha a befitting burial.
